Headline inflation remained at 3.3%.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, embattled Chinese real estate giant Evergrande has filed for bankruptcy protection in a U.S bankruptcy court.<\/p>\n<p>The company sought protection under Chapter 15 of the U.S. bankruptcy code, which shields non-U.S. companies that are undergoing restructuring from creditors.<\/p>\n<p>Shares of <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-1\">Adani Enterprises<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> surged by as much as 7.21% on Friday, leading gains on India&#8217;s Nifty 50 index after an Economic Times report said that UAE state energy company Abu Dhabi National Energy \u2014 also known as Taqa \u2014 is evaluating &#8220;a large exposure&#8221; in the Indian power business via Adani.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s Hang Seng index slid 1.97% in its final hour of trade, while the mainland CSI 300 index lost 1.23% to close at 3,784.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-4\">Nikkei 225<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> slipped 0.55% to cap off four days of losses in the past five sessions, ending at 31,450.76 while the Topix closed down 0.7% at 2,237.29 after the inflation reading was released.<\/p>\n<p>In Australia, the\u00a0<span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-5\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> inched up marginally and ended at 7,148.1.
