Dramatic video captured the moment flames shot out of an engine of a Southwest Airlines

\n flight from Texas to Mexico \u2014 leading one terrified passenger to think, \u201cDamn, it\u2019s gonna go down!\u201d<\/p>\n

Flight 307 was climbing out of William P. Hobby Airport in Houston en route to Canc\u00fan on Tuesday evening when the right engine erupted in flames,\u00a0KHOU reported.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cAll I know is it started swinging like left to right, and I thought, I\u2019ve been on a lot of flights,\u201d passenger Coale Kalisek told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I fly once or twice a month and I knew that wasn\u2019t normal and so I opened up my window and I\u2019m sitting next to the engine and that whole engine you see like fireballs coming out of it,\u201d said the San Antonio man, who was headed to the Mexican resort with his girlfriend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thinking, Damn, it\u2019s going to go down,\u201d Kalisek said.<\/p>\n

The flight \u201creturned to the airport to check out a potential mechanical issue. The aircraft landed safely and was taken out of service,\u201d Southwest told KHOU.<\/p>\n

\u201cA different aircraft is being brought in to continue the flight to Canc\u00fan. We appreciate our Customers\u2019 patience as we work to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n

But Kalisek and his girlfriend decided to stay behind after the scary 27-minute flight \u2014 losing the thousands of dollars they had paid for the trip, the outlet reported<\/p>\n

Instead, they rented a car and drove the 200 miles back to San Antonio.<\/p>\n
