Buffett Foundation and NoVo Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Each organization is run by one of Buffett\u2019s three children (Susan, 72, Howard, 70, and Peter, 67) and has its own philanthropic focus, ranging from reproductive health to hunger.<\/p>\n<p><b>Related: <\/b><b>Warren Buffett Donates a Record $6 Billion to Various Foundations. Here\u2019s How the Money Is Being Split Up.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll three children now have the maturity, brains, energy and instincts to disburse a large fortune,\u201d Buffett wrote, adding that he needed \u201cto step up\u201d his pace of lifetime gifts to their foundations \u201cto improve the probability that they will dispose of what will essentially be my entire estate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Buffett reassured shareholders that accelerating his donations to his children\u2019s philanthropic organizations \u201cin no way\u201d affects how he sees Berkshire\u2019s future. He praised Abel as \u201ca very fast learner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t think of a CEO, a management consultant, an academic, a member of government \u2014 you name it \u2014 that I would select over Greg to handle your savings and mine,\u201d Buffett wrote.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter, Buffett also reflected on his life and career, sharing vivid memories of growing up in Omaha, Nebraska. He recounted a time in 1938 when, as an 8-year-old, he had a \u201cbad bellyache\u201d that ended up requiring an emergency appendectomy.
