Everything You Need to Know About Costco Lift Tickets

Spending a day on the slopes can be expensive. Full-day lift tickets alone can easily reach $100 or more at high-end resorts, making skiing regularly unaffordable for many. However, you can save money by buying Costco lift tickets.

What Are Costco Lift Tickets?

One of the reasons shoppers love Costco is that members gain access to so much more than what is available in the warehouse store. The company often has discounted tickets too, and that includes ski passes.

When you purchase Costco lift tickets, you gain access to the slopes at a particular resort for a specified period. Essentially, they function similarly to the passes you would buy directly from the skiing location – you just get them at a lower price.

Before you buy Costco lift tickets, always make sure to read the fine print. There may be date or time limitations set by an individual resort, so you want to make sure the ski passes will actually meet your needs before you buy. Similarly, there may be age restrictions for certain tickets, particularly those for kids. Make sure you or your family member qualifies in advance.

How to Buy Costco Lift Tickets

Each year, Costco sells lift tickets for a variety of locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since they are usually cheaper than purchasing the same ski passes through the resort, you can spend a day skiing or snowboarding for less.

If you want to buy Costco lift tickets, you typically need to be a member. Then, you can search online and in-store for ski passes that meet your needs.

It’s important to note that you usually won’t see many options available until skiing season begins. That can make planning a vacation more challenging, especially since you won’t know the cost of the passes in advance or the exact date they will be available. However, you may be able to get additional information by contacting a Costco near the resort. Even if they aren’t available now, customer service may be able to give you an availability timeline and a cost estimate.

Physical Locations for Sales

Additionally, in some cases, you’ll only find certain ski passes for sale at the physical warehouse locations nearest the specific resort. If you don’t see lift passes on Costco’s website, consider calling the store closest to your destination and see if they are available.

When you purchase Costco lift tickets online, you also need to check and see how you will receive the pass. Some of them are e-vouchers, so you may need to print the ticket out or bring a smartphone to the resort to gain access. Others may be mailed, so buying a last-minute pass might not work if the delivery won’t occur in time.

Ultimately, Costco lift tickets can be great for frugal skiers and snowboarders, so don’t be afraid to contact stores near resorts to see what may be available.
